Papa was meek, gentle, and humble, and he radiated the love of Christ through his words and the way he lived his life. His unique way of greeting people was often through prayers and blessings. He spoke from the abundance of his heart, and his words were always filled with love, faith, and encouragement. As a child, I remember Papa as my assistant headmaster in primary school. I believe he eventually moved into full-time ministry before I graduated from primary. His life was a beautiful testimony of his devotion to God and his love for people. Papa’s favourite hymn was “God Will Answer Every Prayer,” from Collected Gospel Songs, No. 200. The message of that hymn reflected the faith that he carried throughout his life. Papa taught us, not only through his words but also through his example, how to remain humble, kind, loving, and completely devoted to God. His gentle spirit, prayers, wisdom, and unwavering faith will remain in our hearts and continue to inspire us. As we mourn his passing, we hold firmly to the hope of the resurrection: “For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves.” — 1 Thessalonians 4:16 Rest peacefully, Papa. Your life was a blessing, your faith was an example to us all.
